Behind the Brand

Meet Kara Ewell

I am a woman, a daughter, a wife, and an auntie. My journey — shaped by my own health struggles and relentless search for answers — has led me to dedicate my passion to understanding people and healthcare systems.

With a background in sociology, public relations, and Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, I have become a fierce advocate for patient-centered, evidence-based practice. My mission is simple: to help ensure equitable care for all of us.

Through my work, I want women to feel equipped with the knowledge and tools to take charge of their well-being and move confidently through the complexities of the U.S. healthcare system.

With The Soothe Edit, my goal is to curate trusted wellness, culture, and community experiences, and to become a leading resource for women seeking evidence-based guidance and inspiration. I am passionate about educating, elevating, and connecting women. I believe in shifting the balance of power to the patient, championing innovation, and amplifying the representation of women in medicine and public leadership.

Above all, I am committed to fostering a future where every woman’s voice is heard and valued on her healthcare journey.

Inclusivity Statement

At The Soothe Edit, we are dedicated to supporting women and the unique healthcare needs of women and primary caregivers. We recognize that being a woman is not defined by anatomy. Our commitment is to all who identify as women, as well as to the allies, partners, and caregivers who support them. We believe that when we care for women, we uplift entire communities.

I want to acknowledge my own privilege as a cisgender, white woman. I know that inclusivity is not a destination, but a lifelong journey of listening, learning, and growing. I am committed to continually expanding my understanding and to amplifying the voices and experiences of those who are too often marginalized or overlooked.

Our site and all related platforms are open and welcoming to everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, ability, or background. We believe that inclusive, accessible, and compassionate healthcare resources should be available to all. You belong here, and your well-being matters to us.

Our Approach to improving wellness outcomes

Community

Connect with a supportive community, share experiences, and find encouragement.

Although women make up 50.5% of the U.S. population (Census data), we comprise only 37–40% of physicians and specialists (excluding nursing), hold just 28% of Congressional seats, 33–40% of state legislative or board positions, and 25–40% of local public office and committee roles.

We’re building a powerful grassroots movement to put women in control—empowering us to lead our own health journeys and champion our vital role as primary caregivers.
